The Extension Communication Programme (ECP) of CSB-CSRTI, Mysuru is an important outreach initiative aimed at effective dissemination of sericulture technologies and advisory services to farmers and field functionaries. The programme utilizes a combination of communication approaches such as radio talks, television programmes, print materials, mobile-based advisories, and digital platforms to ensure wider reach and timely information delivery.

ECP focuses on creating awareness and enhancing knowledge on improved practices in mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, pest and disease management, and post-cocoon technologies. Special emphasis is given to region-specific issues, seasonal advisories, and best practices to improve productivity and quality. By strengthening the flow of information between research institutions and the farming community, the ECP plays a crucial role in accelerating technology adoption, capacity building, and overall development of the sericulture sector.
